SHINKLE NAMED SCHNECK MEDICAL CENTER EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR

Seymour, Ind.-May 12, 2009-Shawna Shinkle, Accounting Supervisor, has been named Schneck Medical Center's Employee of the Year at its 34th Annual Employee Recognition Dinner. Shinkle was nominated by her fellow coworkers who described her as: "A wonderful peer with a true commitment to her coworkers." "Always willing to stop what she is working on and help employees and patient alike." "Kind and considerate to not only her coworkers, but to each person she comes into contact with."

Shinkle said that her peers could have easily won this award as well, adding she feels honored to receive such recognition. "There are many employees at this hospital who deserve to be employee of the year because we have a wonderful staff committed to excellence in all they do. I am thankful to work along side them and proud to work at Schneck Medical Center."

In addition, Susan Acton, Nutrition Services, was 1st runner up, and Joan Speer, Environmental Services, 2nd runner up.

In total, the Employee Recognition program honored 92 employees who contributed 1,095 years of service and 10 retirees who gave 230 years of dedicated service. Gary A. Meyer, President/CEO of Schneck, presented the service awards. "Our employees are the heart of our rich history," said Meyer. "Just as they have shaped what we are today, they will also define our future."
