SCHNECK MEDICAL CENTER OFFERING FREE CLINICAL BREAST EXAM SCREENING
April 8, 2010
Schneck Foundation Sponsoring FREE Mammogram Giveaway at the Event
Seymour, Ind.—In honor of all women this Mother’s Day, Schneck Medical Center is offering Free Clinical Breast Exams on Saturday, May 8. The exams will be held 8:00 a.m. to noon at the Schneck Cancer Center on the campus of Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. The event is designed to provide breast exams to women who may not already have access to this service.
A clinical breast exam is a physical examination of the breast. All exams will be performed by qualified nurse practioners. If an abnormality is suspected, Dr. Robert Cooper will be on hand for consultation and mammograms can be scheduled onsite. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn more about breast health and the importance of monthly self-exams and annual mammograms.
To be eligible for a free breast exam, women must be at least 21 years old and not have had a clinical breast exam during the last 12 months.
Women over 40 years of age are encouraged to sign up to Win 1 of 10 Free Mammograms sponsored by the Schneck Foundation.
In addition to the free clinical breast exam, free bone density testing will be available. Bone density testing can determine your risk for osteoporosis. A nurse practioner specializing in osteoporosis will be available to answer any questions about the disease.
Bevers Boutique will have a special sale on assorted bras and any pink item will be 10% off. Bevers will also have a certified bra fitter to find the perfect fit.
A limited number of appointments are available for this event. To schedule your screening, please call the screening line at 812-522-0477. Please leave your name and phone number and your call will be returned promptly. Again, screening times are limited so please call early.
Schneck offers free screenings for a variety of health issues throughout the year, both separately and as part of large health fairs. By offering these screenings, Schneck aims to bring better health to community members who otherwise may not have access to quality health care.
