Respiratory Care

The Respiratory Care Center performs all routine procedures and provides educational services for patients with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). These include peak flowmeter usage, breathing techniques, medication information, and infection control measures that can be taken at home to prevent acute illness.

Respiratory Care personnel perform puncture and analysis of arterial blood gases, which routinely includes co-oximetry values. Analyses are performed in our own state-of-the-art blood gas laboratory.

We also provide 16-channel polysomnography diagnostic testing with interpretations by physicians who are board-certified in Sleep Medicine. Additionally, we perform pulmonary function testing, which includes bedside spirometry, helium dilution, single breath diffusion, and methacholine challenge studies.

Quality Care Assurance

To assure that our quality of care meets the highest standards, our staff consists entirely of state-certified Respiratory Care Practitioners with a mixture of CRTs and RRTs. We provide 24-hour coverage under the supervision of a medical director.
