Which entrance do I use for the Emergency Room?

With the new expansion project, the Patient Entrance is to be used by all outpatient, inpatient, and ambulatory care patients. Emergency Room patients can enter through the doors directly under the emergency sign. This entrance provides the ability for serious patients to be dropped off under the canopy. A dedicated Emergency Registration area is located just inside the doors.
 

Why is it important for me to know my medication allergies and all medications that I am currently taking?

In order to provide thorough healthcare with the best possible outcomes, our physicians need to know what medications you are currently taking and/or might be allergic to in order to prevent drug interactions and help determine a diagnosis.
 

Why is the wait sometimes lengthy in the Emergency Room?

Schneck Medical Center staff and physicians strive to provide quality care as efficiently as possible. The average time to be triaged in the Emergency Room is under 15 minutes. However, sometimes there are uncontrollable situations such as emergencies and traumas that create delays for other patients. Sometimes these situations aren't always in the Emergency Room, but will impact the length of the patient's visit. For instance, if an inpatient requires a prompt x-ray that utilizes the same machinery as an Emergency Room patient would need, this may delay testing and/or results. We continually study our Emergency Room wait times and strive to have our patients in and out in under two hours.
 

How much will a specific procedure cost?

We are unable to quote you an exact amount for most procedures because of the many variables involved. Specific details of the procedure are needed before an accurate cost can be given. What are the Cashier's business hours?

The Cashier's office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The office is closed on holidays. Payments are accepted after hours and during holidays at the Emergency Registration area. The Cashier's area is located just inside the Patient Entrance.
 

Does it cost extra for a private room?

Each of our rooms is designed to be a private suite. There is no additional charge for this service. 
 

When will my physician have my test results and why can't I have them?

Depending on the specific test, your physician will have the test results within a short period of time. For tests that require a 24 - 48 hour culture, that time is increased. It is important for the physician to be the one receiving the results as she or he is better trained to understand and relay the results to you. In addition, the test results may indicate a change in medication or diet that the doctor will direct.
 

What are visiting hours?

General visiting hours are daily 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Extended hours for the Family Life Center are 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the exception of fathers and immediate family which have open hours.
