OUTSTANDING NURSES HONORED AT SCHNECK MEDICAL CENTER
May 7, 2012
Schneck Medical Center honored four extraordinary nurses during its Nursing Recognition Ceremony on Monday, May 7. The nurses were honored for their dedication and commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
The nursing leadership awards were developed to encourage recognition of positive nursing performance. The awards are intended to distinguish and reward nurses who exemplify clinical excellence in nursing care. Nursing excellence nominations were sought from across the hospital. The nurses were selected based on their demonstrated excellence in knowledge and skill; promotion of nursing practice through quality outcomes, education and research; the ability to teach and mentor peers and be influential in bringing positive change to the organization.
Chosen for the 2012 Registered Nurse of the Year was Anita Robinson, RN, BSN, a nurse on 3 North. Robinson was selected by her peers because of her excellent customer service, her willingness to go above and beyond her normal duties as a RN, and her positive attitude.
“I am proud to have Anita as a member of our outstanding nursing team,” said Venetia Green. “She is a role model professional nurse, an excellent critical thinker, and very caring in her interactions.”
Other nurses honored were: Venetia Green, RN, BSN, MSM, CMSRN, Nurse Leader of the Year; Kristin Stidham, LPN, Licensed Practical Nurse of the Year; and Donna Foster, MSN, APN-BC, Advanced Practice Nurse of the Year.
"To be a nurse, is to dedicate your life to caring for the health of others. These nurses have made extraordinary contributions to their patients, their colleagues, and their nursing profession,” said Vicki Johnson, RN, MSN, NE-BC, CSSBB, Vice President of Nursing Services. “Our nurses are hard working and dedicated to their patients and we know without their compassion, Schneck Medical Center would not be as successful as we are. We honor and thank them.”
