Schneck Foundation Hosts 9th Annual Women’s Health Fair

Schneck Foundation's Community Relations Committee will hold its 9TH Annual Women's Health Fair: Spirit Girls’ Morning Out on Saturday, October 27, 8:00 a.m. to noon at the Jackson Elementary School, 508 B Avenue East (South Walnut Street Entrance to Freeman Field), Seymour.

This fun and informative event is designed to move women towards better overall health and vibrant living, and will feature over 60 vendors offering FREE information on a variety of services, products and FREE health screenings, including:
• Glucose Testing
• Cholesterol Testing
• Blood Pressure Screenings
• Heel Dexa Scan for Osteoporosis
• Digital Foot Scan
• Video scope ear screenings
• Grip Strength Test
• Depression Questionnaire
• Joint Heath Questionnaire
• Balance Test
• Massages
• Spinal Screening
• Spanish Translators

A variety of blood screenings will be available at a reduced cost including a Comprehensive Blood Analysis with Lipid Profile for $32 and TSH (Thyroid) Screening for $25. (Participants must fast, water only, for at least 10 hours prior to the Comprehensive Blood Analysis test.)

Flu shots will also be offered for $25 each by the Jackson County Health Department. There will also be a drawing each hour for a free flu shot.

Also at this year’s event, the Jackson County Drug-Free Council is sponsoring a drug drop off for unused over-the-counter and prescription medications in an effort to raise awareness of abuse.

Spirit Girls’ Morning Out is organized and hosted by Schneck Foundation and Schneck Medical Center, a member of the Spirit of Women Hospital Network. More than 65 Spirit of Women hospitals will also host a Spirit Girl’s event this fall – creating a national movement in women’s health.
