January 31, 2017
Warren Forgey, CPA, CGMA, MHA, FHMA, FACHE, President and CEO of Schneck Medical Center, has been named one of the “60 Rural Hospital CEOs to Know” by Becker’s Hospital Review.

The list features some of the most impressive leaders dedicated to advancing healthcare in small towns and rural communities. Forgey and Emmett Schuster of Gibson General Hospital in Princeton were the only CEOs named from the state of Indiana. This is Forgey’s second consecutive year to be named to the list.

As a Rural Hospital CEO to Know, Forgey is recognized for his leadership and dedication to providing high quality, accessible care to the community. He has been instrumental in advancing patient-focused care at Schneck, including leading its most recent expansion and renovation project highlighted by a state-of-the-art Cancer Center, Outpatient Care Center and Emergency Department. He has also achieved significant improvements in operations, accomplishing cost efficiency while increasing patient satisfaction. Under his leadership, Schneck has earned a debt rating of “A” from Standard & Poor’s and a rating of “A+” from Fitch Ratings.

Individuals on the list include CEOs and administrators of hospitals located outside of major metropolitan areas or healthcare hubs. The Becker’s Review editorial team selected leaders through a review process where a number of factors were considered, including awards received; local, regional, and national leadership positions held; and the organization’s performance.
