Robert G. Cooper, MD, FACS
A surgeon with more than 30 years of experience, Dr. Cooper has developed advanced skills in laparoscopic surgery and is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgery. He also offers minimally invasive procedures using the daVinci Surgical System. Board Certified in Surgery, Cooper earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville and completed his surgical training at Boston University. He joined the medical staff of Schneck Medical Center in 2005.
Amanda Dick, MD
Dr. Amanda Dick is a general surgeon, specializing in breast, robotic-assisted endoscopic, and bariatric procedures. Dr. Dick attended the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed her residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. She joined the medical staff of Schneck Medical Center in 2010.
Dr. Cooper and Dr. Dick are complemented by a multi-disciplinary team of weight-loss specialists, including experts in nutritional guidance and behavioral health.
Cathy Hildebrand, NP-C
Cathy has been a nurse practitioner for ten years and an RN for more than 30 years. Along with Lesley Kendall and Dr. Cooper, they developed the program from its inception and grew it into a regional leader in weight loss surgery.
As program coordinator, Cathy works closely with Dr. Cooper and Dr. Dick in addition to your family doctor to make sure you receive the best of care before and after surgery. Cathy hosts the monthly informational seminars and connects former patients with those considering surgery to make sure potential patients are making an informed decision about their care. Once patients decide surgery is right for them, Cathy meets with them at the beginning of the process to complete a comprehensive medical history and then develops a personalized plan for the program. She follows each patient through their journey and offers guidance and support after their procedure.
Sherri Forgey RN, CBN
Sherri is a certified bariatric nurse. Primarily working with patients in the office, Sherri herself had surgical weight loss surgery in 2002. She is very active in the support group and patient outreach activities.
Aaron Banister, PhD
Aaron is a psychologist with Schneck Mental Health and Wellness. He specializes in counseling patients before and after surgery to increase the likelihood of weight loss success.
Each surgical candidate meets with a registered dietitian three to six months prior to surgery and after surgery as needed. Vitamins, nutrition, and dietary behavioral changes are covered in the sessions.
Lesley has 12 years of experience as a dietitian at Schneck and was instrumental in creating the program's nutritional plan during the program's inception. She is an integral part of the program through nutritional and dietary consultations with patients.
Monica has seven years of experience as a dietitian at Schneck. She is an integral part of the program through nutritional and dietary consultations with patients.
Jill has ten years of experience as a dietitian at Schneck. She is an integral part of the program through nutritional and dietary consultations with patients.
