# 40th Annual Dr. “Bud" Charity Golf Tournament Raises Money for RN Scholarships

 The team of Brandon Goecker, Steve Bush, George Covey, and Andy Yodar combined to score 54 and placed first in the 40th Annual Dr. “Bud” Graessle Golf Scramble at Shadowood Golf Course on June 30, 2021.  
  
Eric Fish, MD, President and CEO of Schneck Medical Center, reported that 66 teams participated in the event to raise funds for the Dr. “Bud” Nursing Scholarship Fund.  
  
The following teams were awarded golf prizes:  
First Place: Brandon Goecker, Steve Bush, George Covey, and Andy Yodar (54)  
Second Place: Ashley Morrison, Trey Pfund, Allen Schuhmann, Candy Arbuckle Schulze (54)   
Third Place: Andy Temming, Joe Bruening, Craig Rice, and Lance Hackman (55)  
Fourth Place: Gary Meyer, Lance Hackman, Jeff Collins, and Mat Dusablon (56)   
Fifth Place: Dr. Kris Williams, Dr. Andy Dick, Nate Young, and Cole Brady (57)  
Sixth Place: Bob Krietenstein, Rodney Willman, Tom Bollinger, and Galen Krumme (57)  
  
Longest Drive Men, Hole 18: Eric Scott  
Longest Drive Women, Hole 9: Carolyn Dailey  
Closest to Pin Women, Hole 13: Jane Graessle  
Closest to Pin Men, Hole 2: Brian Mitchel  
Longest Putt Made, Hole 5: Keith Johnson  
  
The Dr. “Bud” Scholarship program was established in honor of Dr. H.P. “Bud Graessle. Born in Seymour, Dr. Graessle was a practicing physician and surgeon for 53 years until his retirement in 1971. All proceeds from the golf scramble provide scholarships for registered nursing and nurse practitioner students in Jackson, Jennings, Scott, and Washington counties.

- Margaret Rohlfing, University of Indianapolis

“To effectively meet our region’s need for nursing professionals, we must ensure nursing students graduate on time and enter the workforce where their expertise is greatly needed,” said Eric Fish, MD, President and CEO of Schneck Medical Center. “I thank all of the supporters of the Dr. Bud Golf Tournament for supporting nurses and the vital role they play in our hospitals, schools, clinics, and nursing homes.”

The Dr. “Bud” Scholarship and Golf Committee expresses its appreciation to the 2021 golfers and sponsors for supporting the Dr. “Bud” Scholarship Fund.
