"I really wanted to go to a place with a tight-knit community! The people at Schneck are the ones who really sold me that this is the place I wanted to settle down."
Dr. Neuman joins Schneck Anesthesiology. He received his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed an internship at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Darby, Pennsylvania, and his residency at Indiana University School of Medicine.
Where did you grow up? I grew up in Mokena, Illinois. I played football and ran track and field in high school. In college, I continued running track and field.
Please tell us about your family. I have two fantastic, supportive parents and a twin brother and sister a year younger than me. My siblings and I grew up very close as we were all basically the same age. I also have an incredible fiancée that I met in residency.
What hobbies do you enjoy? I enjoy outdoor adventures, running, board games, and reading fantasy novels.
What is the one place you would most like to visit? New Zealand!
When did you know you wanted to be a physician? I didn't figure it out until I was late in college my junior year when I realized I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life.
What is your favorite memory from your residency? Meeting my future fiancée! I also helped my med school team win the flag football championship which was pretty cool.
What do you like most about practicing medicine? I feel incredibly blessed that my patients will trust me to take care of them during one of their most vulnerable times (going under anesthesia) after only meeting me for a few minutes. Seeing them afterwards and seeing how relieved they are is extremely gratifying.
What attracted you to work at Schneck Medical Center? I really wanted to go to a place with a tight-knit community! The people at Schneck are the ones who really sold me that this is the place I wanted to settle down.
