# Breast Health

 

 Breast health starts with getting a baseline understanding of breasts. Each breast is unique, so regular screening is important to detect any anomalies such as breast [cancer](https://www.schneckmed.org/conditions/cancer). These screening tests involve clinical breast exams, mammograms, ultrasounds, and MRIs. Genetic testing may also be available, especially for those with a family history of breast cancer. The type of test a provider may recommend will depend on the makeup of the breast.

Breast exams typically happen during a regular checkup or a [self-check](https://www.schneckmed.org/blog/how-to-check-for-breast-cancer) can be performed. If you detect a lump or a change in your breast, reach out to your primary care physician.
