Schneck Welcomes Dr. Joshua Morris!
July 31, 2018
Dr. Morris is a Pain Medicine Specialist with Schneck Pain Center. He attended medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine and completed an internship in categorical anesthesiology and a fellowship in pain medicine at University of Virginia Health System.
Where did you grow up? “I was born and raised in Columbus, Indiana.”

Please tell us about your family. “I met my wife as we crossed paths at the University of Notre Dame. We've now grown into a young family with a son, a dog, and a cat. We enjoyed the mountains and culture of central Virginia for medical training, and we are excited to be close to family in Indiana as our own begins to grow.”

What hobbies do you enjoy? “Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, being active, and being outdoors. I like to run, play soccer and tennis, and hike. I also enjoy woodworking as well as exploring restaurants and activities my community has to offer.”

What is one of your most memorable patient stories? “During my residency, I saw a young man with back pain in the pain clinic. After his procedure, I will never forget the smile he had on his face that quickly spread to his wife’s face. I witnessed how much his pain had affected his entire family and what decreasing it could do. This is one of the experiences that led me to Pain Medicine.”

What do you like most about practicing medicine? “I enjoy the blend of interpersonal, intellectual, and technical aspects that medicine requires. I love it when these come together to make my patients feel better and increase their ability to do the things they enjoy!”

Why did you decide to join Schneck Medical Center? “The people at Schneck have created a welcoming and collegial culture along with an environment to deliver great medical care. I knew immediately I wanted to be a part of it!”
