Finding your first job as a nurse can be a challenge. Candidates need to find a place where they feel comfortable and get the support they need to progress from a novice nurse to a competent and experienced nurse. Schneck’s leading-edge, evidence-based Nurse Residency Program in partnership with Vizient fosters a positive experience for all newly licensed nurses as the transition into practice.
Schneck is proud to announce the 2019 Nurse Residency Graduates: Merrill Miles, Brittany Miles, Brittany Durham, Taylor Cruz, Mikayla Ross.
Schneck’s Nurse Residency Program is one year in duration with monthly meetings, and is designed to support the new graduate nurse’s transition from advanced beginner to competent professional. The program does not take the place of hospital or unit orientation, but instead focuses on leadership, quality outcomes, and the professional role of the nurse.
“Research has shown that New Nurse Residents develop improved confidence, competence, communication skills, and leadership capabilities,” said Ashley Stith, Nurse Educator/Nurse Residency Program Coordinator. “The goal of the program is to assist the new nurse in acquiring the professional practice skills necessary to become a successful partner of the healthcare team.”
