Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. In high school, I was a member of many clubs: Spanish, Speech, Medical Club, Drama, National Honor Society, and Key Club. In college at Arizona State University, I enjoyed hiking, inter-religious dialogues, tutoring, and non-profit volunteering.

Please tell us about your family.

My wife and I have four children aged 10 and under; never a dull moment!

What hobbies do you enjoy?

I enjoy gardening, cooking, reading, and martial arts.

What is your favorite memory from your medical training?

My favorite memory is of a patient who attended a Naloxone Delivery event who came back to tell me they saved a life with Naloxone, and thanked us for giving it away free.

What do you like about practicing medicine?

I like talking to people and hearing their stories.

What is your most memorable patient story?

Being a family physician has given me the opportunity to bring joy to the lives of people of all ages, and to be there during their hardest times. One of my favorite memories is of a chronic pain patient. I helped her understand that her pain was likely exacerbated by anxiety from past trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. She was finally be able to sleep, and was so pleased that she brought her family to our practice, just so I could be the one to initiate their care.
