I grew up in Waterford, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. I played piano from age four through college. I played trumpet in my high school band and also took dance lessons. ### What hobbies do you enjoy? I like to cook, knit, read, go to concerts, and spend time with my son. ### Where would you most like to visit? I’ve always wanted to go to Greece! ### When did you know you wanted to be a physician? I first had an interest in middle school when my favorite TV show was ER. In high school, my favorite classes were biology and anatomy. But it wasn't until after college, when I was working in a lab that I decided to apply to medical school. ### What is your favorite memory from residency? It's hard to decide on just one! Overall, my favorite year of my four years of residency was the third year. Everyone in the program got along really well and there was just a great feeling of camaraderie. It was a good environment to learn, teach and work. Also, that's the year I had my son and my co-resident delivered him. ### What do you like most about practicing medicine? I like the variety of obstetrics and gynecology. I like seeing patients in the office and hospital. ### What is one of your most memorable patient stories? One of the highlights of residency was when I delivered triplets. The couple had struggled with infertility and she was hospitalized for the last week of her pregnancy. The surgery wasn't very different from a singleton C-section except I kept pulling out more babies! All the babies and mom did great! After the delivery, it was so rewarding to see the joy on the new parents’ faces. ### What attracted you to working at Schneck? Schneck first came on my radar when my former chief resident Dr. Amanda Souza took a position with Schneck Obstetrics & Gynecology. She encouraged me to meet with the other physicians in the group. When I visited Schneck, I was impressed by how nice, friendly and respectful everyone was.
