Schneck Honored with AIM Award for Excellence in Maternal Health

Schneck Medical Center has been recognized with the prestigious AIM Award by the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM), a national initiative dedicated to improving maternal outcomes through evidence-based practices.
Presented in partnership with the Indiana Hospital Association and the Indiana Department of Health, the AIM Award celebrates Schneck’s commitment to implementing best practices that address key drivers of maternal and infant health. Schneck earned this recognition through its participation in the INspire Hospital of Distinction program, which evaluates hospitals on their efforts in areas such as:
Infant safe sleep
Breastfeeding support
Perinatal substance use care
Addressing social drivers of health
Management of obstetric hemorrhage
Treatment of maternal hypertension
“At Schneck, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for mothers and babies—delivered close to home by experts you know and trust,” said Amy Pettit, DNP, RN, NE-BC, CSSBB, Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer at Schneck Medical Center. “This recognition is a testament to our team’s commitment to improving health outcomes for families in our community.”
The AIM initiative, led by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), equips hospitals with patient safety bundles—standardized, evidence-based protocols designed to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality. Schneck’s adoption of these bundles reflects its leadership in maternal health innovation and its dedication to continuous improvement.
