Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Wheaton, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. After relocating several times for my education, I am excited to be back home in the Midwest.

Please tell us about your family.

I am happily married to my wife Sarah, who also works in the medical field as a PA in Pediatrics. We have an active infant son who keeps us busy and laughing.

What hobbies do you enjoy?

I am an avid indoor and beach volleyball player. I also enjoy woodworking, DIY projects, and microelectronics.

What do you like about practicing medicine?

I find it rewarding to partner with patients in their medical journeys. In my practice, I strive to reduce pain, improve function and get people back to activities that make them happy. As I care for you or your loved one, I will work with you to identify the activities the pain is inhibiting and develop a personal treatment plan to maximize your pain relief.

What drew you to Pain Management?

During medical school, I witnessed how reducing someone’s pain can allow them to live their life more fully. Helping to relieve pain and improve function was and continues to be where I find my purpose and passion in healthcare.

What attracted you to work at Schneck?

The community based approach, cutting-edge medical facilities, and collegial atmosphere drew me to work at Schneck. I am thrilled to be joining an exceptional team committed to providing the best care to patients.

Dr. G. Paul Cooper is part of the Schneck Pain Center team. He attended William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He completed his residency and Anesthesia Pain Fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana.
