Scott Murphy, MD

I grew up in the suburbs of Indianapolis, and moved to Jefferson County, Indiana with my wife and children in 2006.

I have been married to my wife Tracy for 38 years. We have 9 children and 7 grandchildren most of whom live nearby. We love spending time together. 

I always say my wife and family are my hobby. We enjoy living, working, and playing together. We also love engaging with others at our church where I am the pastor. We enjoy small town life, living on the outskirts of Madison.

I have wanted to be a physician since I was in junior high. Over the years, however, I feel like my appreciation for being a physician has grown. I consider it a great privilege to be a part of people’s lives as they navigate their healthcare. In over 30 years of practice, many of my patients have become close friends. 

I feel like God has led me specifically to Family Medicine because it gives me the opportunity to engage in long-term relationships with my patients at all phases of life. I love being a part of shared decision making with patients on their journey toward health and wellness. 

There are many things that attracted me to Schneck. I was attracted to its emphasis on a team approach to the practice of high quality medical care. I also appreciate the personalized care that Schneck delivers to its patients.
