We are committed to accuracy and providing efficient test results for our patients. The Schneck Lab conducts a variety of tests for inpatient and outpatient needs. The Lab includes an Outpatient Draw Station located inside the Outpatient Care Center.

The Schneck Diagnostic Lab accepts orders via fax from physicians and other providers.
Outpatient Lab Services
Schneck Outpatient Lab is located inside the main entrance at Schneck Medical Center. Use this location when your physician has ordered any lab tests for you or your loved one.

When you come for your lab test, be sure to bring your lab order form that your physician gave you as well as your insurance card(s). You may register for your test at the reception desk of the Outpatient Care Center. If you are having a drug screen, you will also need a photo ID.
The laboratory defines fasting as no food or drink for eight (8) to twelve (12) hours before blood is drawn. Patients should still take their prescribed medication with a small amount of water, unless your physician has told you otherwise. Keep in mind candy, gum, mints, and coffee are considered food. Your medical provider and/or paperwork will indicate if you need to fast prior to a test.
Some common tests that require fasting include:
- Basic Metabolic Panel (BMP)
- Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP)
- Glucose Testing
- Glucose Tolerance Testing
- Lipid Panel
Blood work is done at Schneck Primary Care-Brownstown, 806 W. Commerce Street in Brownstown, on Tuesdays from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. For more information about the Satellite Stations, please call Lab Outreach at (812) 523-4758.
Drive-Thru Lab Services - Level 2 of the parking garage at the Schneck Professional Building. Labs are done by appointment only on Tuesday and Thursday from 8-10:30am. Appointments need to be made in advance so Registration can have your paperwork ready. Call 812-523-4758, 812-522-0186 or 812-522-0188 to get scheduled.
Results for chemistry profiles, blood counts, and other routine testing will be provided to your physician on the same day the blood is collected. Reports will be provided by IHIE, an automated fax system.
At the Schneck Laboratory outpatient draw center, anyone can have a PCR (molecular) COVID test ($52) or a COVID antibody test ($69.54.) The COVID test is appropriate for travel and includes comment with our laboratory information and test information. Results are available in less than 24 hours, so plan accordingly for timing of testing.
