Melissa Anderson - Certified Occupational Health Nurse Specialist

Occupational Health Nurses act as employee advocates while balancing the needs of organizations. A Certified Occupational Health Nurse Specialists (COHN-S) assists employers in controling costs by promoting wellness and seeking opportunities to lower healthcare expenditures - both work related and non-work related. In addition to performing primary healthcare duties, a Nurse Practitioner who is a COHN-S can assess jobs and tasks to identify hazards, assist with compliance with programs such as OSHA, FMLA, ADA, DOT, and HIPAA, assist with disaster and emergency preparedness, and work with employers to reduce on-the-job injuries and illnesses.
