Schneck Earns State Recertification for Perinatal Levels of Care

| News

Schneck Medical Center has successfully achieved recertification from the Indiana Department of Health as an Obstetric Level of Care II and Neonatal Level of Care II facility, reinforcing its commitment to providing high-quality, specialized care for mothers and newborns across southern Indiana.

The designation follows a comprehensive onsite review conducted during which Schneck was found to meet all requirements for both obstetric and neonatal services at the Level II designation.

This certification recognizes Schneck’s ability to provide care for moderate-risk pregnancies and newborns who may require additional monitoring or specialized treatment.

“This achievement reflects the expertise, dedication, and collaboration of our entire perinatal team,” said Kristy Robledo, Director of Emergency Department and Women and Children Services. “We are proud to offer a level of care that ensures mothers and babies receive the right care, at the right time, close to home.”

The Indiana Department of Health also commended the importance of ongoing, multidisciplinary education in strengthening patient safety and outcomes. Schneck Medical Center continues to invest in education and training to support its physicians, nurses, and care teams in delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care.

Perinatal Levels of Care certification ensures hospitals are equipped and staffed to provide care appropriate to patient needs, which plays a critical role in improving outcomes for mothers and infants.
