What is Internal Medicine?

They are often called upon to consult with other specialty physicians for their expertise in solving more puzzling health issues.

What is Pediatrics?

Schneck Hospitalists are pediatricians as well as internal medicine physicians. Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that focuses on the health and medical care of infants, children and adolescents. The word "pediatrics" is derived from two Greek words meaning "healer of children." Schneck Hospitalists are readily available to provide compassionate care to newborns and ill young patients who require a hospital stay.

How often will I see the Hospitalist Team during my hospital stay?

Schneck Medical Center Hospitalist Physicians are dedicated to your moment-to-moment care while within the hospital. They accomplish this by working closely with specialty physicians as well as many other departments such as nursing, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, registered dieticians, physical and occupational therapy, and patient services in what is called a multidisciplinary team. In addition to seeing you daily, the Hospitalist Physician will discuss your care daily with this multidisciplinary team to make sure you are receiving the necessary care to improve during your hospital stay. To make sure that a Hospitalist Physician is always familiar with you and your medical background, there are discussions between the physicians twice daily to review your case. There will always be a Hospitalist Physician on call that will know your medical history and offer the advice or assistance you may need.
