Depressive Disorders

Depressive disorders are a group of significant conditions affecting the mental and physical health of an individual. While bouts of depression are normal to experience in periods of life, depressive disorders are persistent and intense.

Examples of depressive disorders include:

  • Pre and postpartum depression

  • Persistent depressive disorder (PDD)

  • Disruptive mood dysregulation disorder (DMDD)

  • Seasonal affective disorder

The cause of depressive disorders is not definitive. However, it may be brought on by alcohol or drug use, medical conditions (particularly those that disrupt hormones), medications, or abuse.

If you or a loved one suffer from persistent depression, know that help is available. The team at Schneck is here for you.
