I grew up in Trafalgar, Indiana.
I married my high school sweetheart during our senior year of college. We had our oldest girl during my first year of medical school and our youngest girl during my first year of residency. This was a very busy time in our life!
I enjoy discovering new coffee shops, tending to our small hobby farm—complete with goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, and a garden—and spending time doing yard work around the house.
I’d love to visit New Zealand someday, but a more realistic destination for now would be the western U.S.—especially the Rocky Mountains.
I knew as early as third grade that I wanted to become a physician. What continues to inspire me in this profession is the opportunity to truly connect with patients on a personal level. Some of the most meaningful visits are the ones where we can simply talk—about their lives, their families, or whatever’s on their mind. That kind of connection builds trust and makes a real difference.
One of the most memorable experiences I’ve had involved a patient who had been struggling with mental health challenges for years. They had tried multiple medications with little to no success. During our visit, I took the time to really listen to their story. Together, we developed a new treatment plan that included not only a different approach to medication, but also introduced targeted therapies tailored to their needs.
After a few months of adjustments and support, the transformation was incredible—it was like seeing a whole new person. Moments like that remind me why I chose this path in the first place.
What attracted me most to Schneck was the small town feel of the hospital, but also the vast opportunities that are available to the patients that we serve. I always knew that practicing medicine in a rural setting was exactly the spot for me. After completing my medical training in a large city, I was ready to get back to the small community setting.
