"This was my first visit. So impressed with Dr. Rasner. Explained everything well, respectful, quick and even personally called me the  following day with results of bloodwork. You just don't get that type of  care anymore. I would definitely refer to him in the future."

~Dawn, Schneck OBGYN patient

Get to Know Dr. Justin Rasner

Dr. Justin Rasner has delivered over 1,000 babies in his career. Play the video to learn more about Dr. Rasner.

I grew up in a small town in the mountains of eastern Kentucky. In high school, I ran a small farm business and was Regional FFA President. During college, I was very involved in student government.

My wife Donata is a professional singer and travels often. Her work hours are often nights and weekends. She also teaches voice and piano lessons. We both have unusual schedules so she understands when I can’t come home or have to leave in the middle of the night, which is a big plus for me as an obstetrician.

I like to play golf, watch a lot of sports, and enjoy cooking from scratch.

My wife and I would love to visit Paris one day!

I decided to become a physician when I was 15, after the death of my Pappaw. I did not think I was going to become an OB/GYN when I started. But during medical school, the first time I saw a baby delivered, there was no turning back. It is still exciting every time!

The first time I stayed late to deliver a baby. It was one of my first and few 24-hour shifts in school and I had been with the same patient since she came in. In medical school, patients meet a lot of different doctors which can be frustrating. But she and I had spent the whole night together while she was in labor and I was not going to miss it! I was breaking the rules staying past 24 hours, but it was the first time I did a delivery myself and when she thanked me for staying, it made it all worthwhile.

Getting to know patients. It takes a real connection to give patients advice during pregnancy, about a surgery, or ways to protect their health. Spending time understanding people helps as much, if not more than, all the other things we study in medical school.
